Spreading Awareness: ISA Nagpur City Branch and Jhulelal Runners Academy Host Marathon for Breast Cancer Awareness and Life Support Training

On October 13, 2024, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Nagpur City Branch, in collaboration with Jhulelal Runners Academy, organized a marathon to promote awareness about breast cancer and Compressions-Only Life Support (COLS). The event featured 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km race categories and kicked off at 6:00 am, attracting enthusiastic participation.

Following the marathon, Dr. Umesh Ramtani, President of ISA Nagpur City Branch, conducted an informative session on COLS, explaining the importance of life-saving compressions. Dr. Anjali Modak Borkar, the Honorary Secretary, followed with a practical demonstration on a mannequin, showcasing the proper technique.

The session was attended by 700-800 marathon participants, with hands-on training provided to approximately 30-40 attendees. The training team included President-Elect Dr. Sachin Makde, Treasurer Dr. Sonali, Joint Secretary Dr. Vrushali, and executive members Dr. Kirti, Dr. Roshani, Dr. Anant, Dr. Arihant, and Dr. Karuna.

The event was a great success, receiving appreciation from participants and the ISA Nagpur City Branch team for its impactful combination of fitness and life-saving skills.
