The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) Nagpur City Branch, in collaboration with Datta Meghe Medical College, conducted a Mega COLS (Compressions-Only Life Support) training session for police personnel at the Police Commissionerate in Nagpur on October 15, 2024. The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Ravinder Singal (IPS), Commissioner of Nagpur City, who motivated his team to learn the life-saving steps of COLS with precision and thoroughness. Dr. Singal also commended the ISA NCB team for their dedicated efforts in promoting life support awareness.

ISA NCB President Dr. Umesh Ramtani presented an overview of COLS, while Hon. Secretary Dr. Anjali Borkar and COLS Coordinator Dr. Leena Ingale gave a detailed mannequin demonstration. Hands-on training was then conducted in small groups by Vice President SAMS Dr. Saurabh Barde, GC member SAMS Dr. Shital Dalal, and executive members Dr. Kirti Gujarkar and Dr. Leena Ingale.

Over 200 police officials from departments including the Special Branch, Crime Branch, Cyber Cell, Gun Liaison, Grievance Cell, and Anti-Corruption actively participated. The session proved to be highly rewarding, with plans for additional training sessions across various zones, encouraged by the Commissioner’s personal support for expanding this vital initiative.
