COLS Awareness Program at Air Force Day and EAWWAN Annual Day by ISA Nagpur City Branch

The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Nagpur City Branch, took part in the Air Force Day and Ex-Air Warrior Welfare Association (EAWWAN) Annual Day celebrations on October 13, 2024, held at Sudarshan Sabhagruh. The event included a Compressions-Only Life Support (COLS) awareness activity aimed at educating attendees about life-saving emergency response techniques.

Dr. Umesh Ramtani, President of ISA Nagpur City Branch, introduced the team and provided an overview of the COLS technique, emphasizing its importance in emergency situations. The practical steps were demonstrated by Honorary Secretary Dr. Anjali Modak Borkar, Immediate Past Secretary Dr. Dilip Wasnik, and President-Elect Dr. Sachin Makde, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the procedure.

The event was graced by Vice Admiral Kishor Thakre, who served as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Rajendra Mishra, Secretary of the Senior Citizens Foundation, as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries actively engaged in the session, asking insightful questions about the technique. The awareness program also saw active participation from Dr. Shital Dalal, GC SAMS, and executive member Dr. Kirti Gujarkar.

The session drew approximately 150 Ex-Air Warriors and their family members, who participated with great interest. The ISA team members were felicitated for their dedication to spreading awareness and received commendations from the participants for their commitment to the cause.
