Best Paper Presentation Competition: A Platform for Academic Excellence in Anaesthesiology
The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Nagpur City Branch (ISA-NCB), successfully organized the Best Paper Presentation Competition for postgraduate students of Anaesthesiology on November 8, 2024. The event was held at M.T. Paithankar Hall, IMA House, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
The competition featured enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students of Government Medical College (GMC), Nagpur, and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC), Nagpur. A total of 13 students presented their research work, with each being allotted 7 minutes for the presentation, followed by a 2-minute Q&A session.
The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, seeking blessings from the Almighty. Dr. Umesh Ramtani, President of ISA-NCB, delivered a warm welcome address and outlined the rules of the competition.
The judging panel comprised two eminent experts:
- Dr. Pratibha Deshmukh, Director, Anaesthesiology, DMMC
- Dr. Gajanan Chavan, Professor & Head, Department of Anaesthesia, AIIMS Nagpur
Distinguished guests, including Dr. Chandrashekharan Cham (Governing Council Member, ISA National), Dr. Sheetal Dalal (GC, SAMS), and senior ISA members such as Dr. S.K. Deshpande, Dr. Kiran Vyawhare, Dr. Anjali Kolhe, Dr. Sachin Makde, Dr. Gurbani, and Dr. Amrusha Raipure, graced the occasion with their presence, inspiring the participants.
The competition concluded with Dr. Hemlata securing the 1st prize and Dr. Santosha as the runner-up, both from IGGMC. Certificates of participation were awarded to all contestants as a token of encouragement and recognition.
Dr. Roshani Manwani, Executive Team Member, served as the event coordinator and master of ceremonies, while Dr. Anant provided technical assistance and timekeeping. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Hon. Secretary, Dr. Anjali Modak Borkar, followed by the National Anthem.
