ISA Nagpur City Branch celebrates Annual Day
Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch celebrated Annual Day on 25th January 2014. Dr Pallavi Darade, Additional Commissioner, Tribal Development Department, Govt. of Maharashtra was the Chief Guest for the program. Dr J.V. Divatia, Professor & Head, Department of Anaesthesiology, Pain & Critical Care, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai was the Guest of Honour for the occasion. Dr Charuta Gadkari, the President of ISA – NCB welcomed all. On this day, various prizes were given at the hands of Chief Guest Dr Pallavi Darade to members of the society and post-graduate students in anaesthesiology. Dr Prasad Suryavanshi was awarded Dr R.K. Pradhan memorial award for securing highest marks in the M.D. examination in 2013. Dr Tarana Sheikh received Dr Lalla-Cham award for securing highest marks in Diploma in anaesthesia examination in 2013. Dr Surabhi Lande was given Dr Shrirao’s award & Rev. B.N. Sahay award for bagging first prize in paper presentation competition. Dr S.K. Deshpande award for second prize in paper presentation competition was given to Dr Bhushan Ambare. Senior member of the society, Dr Ranjana Deshmukh was awarded with Prestige Nursing Home most active member award.
Past President of the society, Dr Rashmi Deshpande was honored with ‘Mrs Kamlatai Deshpande Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her exceptional contribution towards the society. Dr Shubhada Deshmukh introduced and highlighted the life events of Dr Rashmi Deshpande.
ISA Nagpur City Branch regularly publishes e-newsletter (e-Sense). Third issue of the newsletter on Anemia was launched at the hands of Dr Divatia. Dr Avinash Pophali, Senior Consultant Hematologist & oncologist and Dr Ramesh Mundle, Professor of Medicine, NKPSIMS, Nagpur contributed articles on anaemia. Dr Shubhada Deshmukh, Professor of Anaesthesia, NKPSIMS, Nagpur wrote on Anaesthesia and Anaemia Interaction.
Dr E.G. Tambe memorial oration was delivered by Dr J.V. Divatia. The topic of oration was “Anaesthesia Technique and outcome….Does it Matter?”. Dr Divatia discussed various issues and techniques during conduct of anaesthesia which can alter the patient outcomes favorably or otherwise. Dr Anil Jain, Senior Consultant anaesthesiologist and Dr Pradeep Arora, Senior Consultant Surgeon chaired this session.
Dr Gunjan Badwaik and Dr Gauri Arora conducted the program. Dr Saurabh Barde, Honorary Secretary, proposed vote of thanks. Dr Narendra Tamhane, Dr Rashmi Shingade, Dr Sachin Sadavarte, Dr Vikram Alsi, Dr Sachin Makade and Dr Sheetal Dalal worked hard for success of this program. The program was attended by large number of anaesthesiologists and surgeons of the city. The program ended with National Anthem.
