ISA NCB CELEBRATES ANNUAL DAY

ISA Nagpur city branch celebrated Annual day on 23rd Jan.
The ISA NCB members who have worked really hard throughout the year, university toppers of MD/DA exams, winners of travel fellowship, research paper presentation competition, interesting case presentation competition, intercollegiate quiz were felicitated and awarded with medals, trophies and certificates.
Dr Anjan Trikha, professor of Anaesthesia, AIIMS, New Delhi was the chief guest.
Dr Hema Mankeshwar madam also graced the occasion.
President Dr B M Rajurkar welcomed all.
A senior ISA NCB member DR V V Akulwar was presented with Mrs. Kamaltai Deshpande memorial lifetime achievement award. This award is given as an appreciation to the person for his contribution and active participation towards growth of anaesthesia society. The honour was done at the best hands of Dr Mankeshwar and Dr Trikha. The award includes shawl, shreephal and a citation.
Dr Akulwar is retd. Professor and head of Dept of anaesthesia IGGMC Nagpur and at present attached with NKP Salve institute of medical sciences. During his tenure he was a PG Guide for many students and also held various executive posts of ISA NCB responsibly. He is very popular among his friends, colleagues and students for his cool and calm nature.
Dr Akulwar in his acceptance speech thanked his colleagues and family members for their constant support and encouragement. He specially thanked Dr A A Ghosh for his brotherly advice.
Dr C S Cham, Ex-President ISA NCB was awarded Sushila Sathe Memorial Award for his stint as a faculty at state, national and international conferences.
Prestige nursing home most active member award was given to Dr Kamlakar Pawar.
Awards and Felicitation ceremony was followed by ‘Dr E G Tambe memorial oration.
Dr Anjan Trikha delivered the oration on the topic “Anaesthesiologist as a perioerative physician”.
He encouraged all the anaesthesiologist not to restrict themselves in operation theatres and expand their role as pain specialist, intensivist and perioperative physician.
Dr Mankeshwar in her talk congratulated the team for winning best city branch award at national level for 5th time in a row and asked all to keep up with the good work.
Dr Soma Chan and Dr Gauri Arora conducted the proceedings.
Hon. Secretary Dr Rashmi Lohakare proposed vote of thanks.
Program ended with National Anthem.
