ISA-NCB CELEBRATES WORLD ANAESTHESIA ( ETHER ) DAY
Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Nagpur celebrates 172nd World Anaesthesia day on Tuesday, 16th October 2018 as a tradition of organisation. Every Year, this important day is celebrated by ISA-NCB with zeal, novelty and fervour . The day is symbolic to the remarkable historic event. On 16th October 1846, 1st successful demonstration of ether anaesthesia was done for the public and clinicians of that era at B.B. Hall , Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston ( popularly known as Ether Dome ) at the hands of Father of Anaesthesia ; Sir William Thomas Green Morton.
This Year, Team ISA-NCB (2018-19) planned the entire day with novel ideas and enthusiasm. ISA-NCB sorted out the plan of ETHER WEEK celebrations well in advance. The agenda was to celebrate the event by creating public awareness by conducting various COLS and BCLS activities at nursing homes and private public places, contributing socially by tree plantations and enjoying with cultural bonanza and gala musical nite. With this triad of Public Awareness, Social Contribution and Cultural gathering, ISA-NCB celebrates this mega event of Anaesthesiologists.
PRESS CONFERENCE ON 13TH OCTOBER 2018
The ETHER WEEK began with creating awareness through press media. On 13th October, Press Conference was conducted by ISA-NCB at Tilak Patrakaar Bhawan, Nagpur. Dr. Sunita Lawange, President ISA-NCB highlighted about the agenda of celebrating Ether Week with triad of public awareness, social contributions and cultural event. . She explained the importance of Ether Day and expressed the idea of celebrating Ether Week. Dr. Umesh Ramtani, Hon. Secretary, ISA-NCB addressed the importance of knowledge of life saving skills for every citizen and told that keeping this in mind, ISA-NCB will celebrate the week by conducting various COLS activities . There is forth coming WORLD RESTART A HEART DAY on 23rd October under the aegis of ISA National and Indian Resuscitation Council. On this day, Mass COLS training programs will be conducted simultaneously on a single day at various schools, colleges and public places. SOCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
The Day started with tree plantation by office bearers and their families and kids at public utility parks and house gardens as a part of social contribution which is ongoing agenda for this tenure. Our office bearers and members planted saplings at their houses and gardens.
Ether Day Celebrations by ISA-NCB Team and ISA members
ISA-NCB Team 2018-19 celebrated ether day with lots of joy and excitement. ISA-NCB was bestowed with success and awards. ISA-NCB bagged multitude of awards at ISACON Maharashtra 2018 held at Shirdi. The entire team of ISA-NCB gathered at IMA premises for group photo and cake cutting. The President Dr. Sunita Lawange and Hon. Secretary Dr. Ramtani extended warm wishes of World Anaesthesia Day and congratulated all for grand success.

“FUSION” 2018
ISA-NCB arranged cultural evening at J.R. Shaw Auditorium, IMA House with theme “FUSION” in which ISA-NCB members participated in Fashion show and musical orchestra .The chief guest of event was Dr. Y.S. Deshpande, President, IMA Maharashtra. The program started with traditional Samai lighting and welcome speech by President Dr. Sunita Lawange. As a part of tradition, members and their wards were felicitated by chief guest for their academic as well as non-academic achievements. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of entire organisation and congratulated all for bringing laurels to orange city by winning multitude of awards at State level. Dr. Umesh Ramtani, Hon. Secretary proposed formal vote of thanks.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by opulent fashion show and musical extravaganza. ISA NCB members participated in ecstatic fashion show which included attractive and colourful fusion and formal rounds. The participants rocked on the ramp with style and panache in amazing fusion attires and formal costumes. The past presidents of ISA-NCB also participated in fashion show and walked with grace and poise in a round dedicated to them. All the legends enthralled the ramp gracefully. It was an unforgettable moment for ISA NCB as all the luminaries shared the stage. The musical event was equally amazing and thrilling. The ISA-NCB members participated in orchestra and entertained the audience with their melodious and mesmerising songs. The entire event was princely grand and magnificent. The event was attended by 200 doctors, their families and kids who thoroughly enjoyed the fun filled evening.
The team ISA-NCB headed by President Dr. Sunita Lawange and Hon. Secretary, Dr. Umesh Ramtani worked extremely hard for success of the mega event. The Project Coordinators were Dr. Gauri Arora, Dr. Ravi Mundada and Dr. Daksha Mandhaniya. The Masters of Ceremony were Dr. Dilip Wasnik and Dr. Shital Deshpande.
ISA-NCB is vibrant organisation which has brought laurels and pride by winning multitude of awards at State Conference ISACON held on 4th – 7th October at Shirdi. Under the able leadership of President Dr. Sunita Lawange and Hon. Secretary, Dr. Umesh Ramtani, Team ISA-NCB (2018-19) works with full dedication and devotion to rise city branch to heights of success.
PUBLIC AWARENESS
On 17th October, as a part of Ether week celebrations, COLS Activity was conducted at Bangar Amma Mata Mandir, Nagpur. On auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami, Devotees who came for darshan were trained and given handson on Mannequin by Dr. Vrishali Ankalwar. Around 200 participants were benefitted in this training session.
With a motto of SAFETY, QUALITY & ACCLIVITY , the team which includes President Dr. Sunita Lawange , Hon. Secretary Dr. Umesh Ramtani, Hon. Treasurer Dr. Soma Cham , President Elect Dr. Manisha Shembhekar , Joint Secretary Dr. Madankar, Past President Dr. Shital Dalal, Past Secretary Dr. Gauri Arora , Special Executive member Dr. Tamhane, enthusiastic executive members Dr. Vrishali Ankalwar, Dr. Daksha Mandhaniya , Dr. Dilip Wasnik , Dr. Ritesh Borkar, Dr. Ravi Mundada, Dr. Swapna Bhure and Dr. Ketaki Marodkar progressively works with determination and everlasting enthusiasm. The National ISA GC member Dr. Anjali Bhure, West zone ISA GC Member Dr. Gadkari, State ISA GC Members Dr. Shubhada Deshmukh and Dr. C.S. Cham act as guiding force and mentors. ISA-NCB pledges to work with same enthusiasm and devotion forever.
