ISANCB Conducts COLS Awareness and Hands-On Training at Wanjari Nagar Garden, Nagpur

October 18, 2026

The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Nagpur City Branch (ISANCB), in collaboration with the Department of Anaesthesiology, NKPSIMS and LMH, conducted a Compression-Only Life Support (COLS) awareness and training programme at Wanjari Nagar Garden, Ajni, Nagpur, on 15 October 2026.

The initiative aimed to raise public awareness about cardiac arrest, the importance of early recognition, and the need for prompt intervention during medical emergencies.

Dr Rachana Naitam, Executive Member, delivered an informative lecture on COLS and addressed questions from visitors. Participants showed keen interest in learning about life-saving techniques, and their queries were answered by Dr Rachana.

Hands-on training was provided by Dr Ajeet Jyotipurkar and Dr Aditi, who guided participants through practical exercises using mannequins. Approximately 40 people attended the programme and took part in the hands-on practice, gaining practical exposure to essential life-saving techniques.

The interactive session helped engage the public and encouraged participants to understand the importance of immediate action during a cardiac emergency.

Through this collaborative initiative, ISANCB and the Department of Anaesthesiology at NKPSIMS and LMH continued their efforts to promote community awareness and improve public understanding of life-saving skills.

The programme reinforced the message that awareness, timely intervention, and practical training can play a vital role in responding to cardiac emergencies.
